Despite facing challenges during this journey, Foxx expressed his determination to return stronger. In the three-minute and 15-second video, he appeared thinner than usual and wore a dark pullover shirt, but he conveyed his gratitude for being able to resume work.
Back in April, the 55-year-old actor was hospitalized due to a medical complication, as disclosed by his daughter, Corinne Fox. However, the specific details regarding the nature of his condition were not disclosed by Foxx in his first public statement since his hospitalization.
Foxx expressed his reluctance to be seen in such a vulnerable state, not wanting anyone to witness him hooked up to tubes, unsure if he would pull through. He expressed deep gratitude to his daughter, sister, God, and the medical professionals who played a crucial role in saving his life.
Facing a challenging ordeal that he never thought he’d experience, Foxx admitted that he occasionally found himself overcome with tears. Despite the hardships, he assured everyone that he was getting better and regaining his strength, promising that they would soon see him back in action.
During the Los Angeles premiere of his recent movie “They Cloned Tyrone,” Foxx’s castmates, including David Alan Grier, Teyonah Parris, and Tamberla Perry, expressed their affection for him and their longing for his swift recovery.
Born as Eric Marlon Bishop in 1967 in Terrell, Texas, Foxx initially made his mark as a stand-up comedian before entering television with various roles, notably on Fox TV’s musical-comedy “In Living Color” in 1990.
